Return to Election Coverage

SPECIAL UPDATE! WHEE!

This is a link to a movie a friend and I shot friday night. It's pertinent and stuff, and shot on the glorious Red One, so watch it in glorious 720p.

6:54 - I voted today because a friend of mine convinced me that I couldn't just sit back and watch the world burn. Maybe so, but I'm not sure I got anything for my trouble besides a free cookie and a cup of coffee. I checked the little box and walked out.

6:55 - A friend and I shot a movie this friday--we wrote it and wrapped it by midnight that night--it's about a failed 3rd party candidate. Link to follow--somewhere.

7:01 - I hate these ringy music cues. They're filling up empty space. There's nothing to talk about til the last vote is counted, and maybe not even then. Projections just prolong the suspense, why don't we all just go to bed, and tomorrow we'll have a new president? Everybody likes a show.

7:03 - black people like obama, white evangelicals like McCain. 39% of SC is evangelical

7:08 - district by district coverage. Doesn't anyone have anything better to do? If I were Obama or McCain, I'd go to bed, make it a surprise.(Your nerves would be buzzing so bad you wouldnt be able to sleep if ya wanted!)

7:20 - Pizza break! I wish they'd at least admit that they're putting on a song and dance routine and make it interesting. (I was toying around with this idea as well. Let 'em hire some grade-A actors to get in there an present these returns with a lil goddamn showmanship... In full costume. With Busby Berkeley dancers! NH)

7:22 - they're talking about obama's superstitions re: election day. What a farce.

"all of us are deeply saddened to hear about the death of obama's grandmother" Bullshit. I wonder if they're obliged to give Obama and Mccain equal blab time during election coverage. (Most likely obliged, but definitely not followed. I almost forgot what McCain looked like while I was watching...NH)

7:25 - The mission of the Constitution Party is to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity through the election, at all levels of government, of Constitution Party candidates who will uphold the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. It is our goal to limit the federal government to its delegated, enumerated, Constitutional functions and to restore American jurisprudence to its original Biblical common-law foundations.

7:42 - sorry, no posts lately. bored. They've called it already. obama, obama, obama. I figured it would be so. I keep thinking I want my vote back. Obama will do a decent job, but what about his successors? what madness will we be subjected to by the beneficiaries of this landslide, the nasty little bureacrats and political climbers who will work this thing to their advantage. It's not hard for me to imagine crowds of smug obamites strutting around like bush supporters after 9/11.

7:47 - these commercials are awful.

7:54 - Amalia and Katelyn want to know where Ann Coulter is. The stereotypical goofy neighbor; she flounces on stage and everybody laughs.(who laughs at Ann C??? is that who you're talking about? WW)

7:56 - Trucks, golf, tiger woods, local news shows. This thing has as many commercials as the superbowl, only they're not funny or entertaining.

8:00 - a cheer goes up for Obama. I feel sick. I voted for him.

The studio cameras are on some kind of overhead track--those cameras are too big to be supported on fluid heads. They want sort of a wobbly, exciting motion when they push in on the Wolf. Must be a crane.

8:02 - if race was important to them, voters favored obama. Same if not. Many conclusions could be drawn. Maybe the racists just hold it in til they're in the booth. The touch screen display is a fun bit of theatre.

8:04 - I ought to run for sherriff in my home town. Or mayor or something. Satisfy my frustrated will to power. (Freak Power ticket, maybe??? NH)

Two independents in the senate. HELP US, WE ARE FOOLS. (If the whole house was full of independents- then what?  WW)

8:06 - some fat guy says if Obama is elected, racism is over in america. Whew, I was worried!

8:09 - James Carville is like HST lite---in a suit.

8:12 - there's one black person on the screen, first one I've seen all night. One young woman, but she's pretty. Are there any homely lady journalists on TV? I doubt it.

8:13 - Somebody got a pile of cash for designing these motion graphics.(mcad grad WW) Fix us obama! Woo! Make everything better! It's gonna be a long couple of decades.

1:42 - one last thought--the cheer went up around midnight I think. Obama probably has it. The only thing worse than a lousy leader is a good one.(??? Grumbly Gus? WW)

I am indeed a grumbly gus. Anyone who can inspire loyalty in others is someone to fear. And I steal christmas presents from little children in the night.

haha oh matt. but I'm wondering does that mean you should never be loyal to someone? or does it mean you should be second guessing? I'm trying to understand you and your Butchershop ways!
